Every unique learner deserves access to an education setting that will fit their unique needs. We champion access to options across the country, so that no unique learner misses their one chance at a great education.
Unique Learner-focused K-12 policy
Often, education policy fails to account for the needs of unique learners. We ensure the voice of unique learners is in the room and that K-12 policy protects their interests and needs.
Model Bills
We work with our incredible Advisory Council and network to recommend and build legislation to solve problems and advance opportunities for unique learners.
Connecting with parents
Parents are some of the best advocates for unique learners. We connect with parents to understand their needs and amplify their voice and advocacy to see real progress.
Publicly spotlighting Unique Learners
The stories of unique learners should be told. Whether it’s amplifying success stories or making sure injustices get a spotlight, we platform these stories and insist they aren’t ignored.
Our Initiatives
Unique Learners Advocacy Council (Grasstops)
We convene and organize influencers and leaders in the disability space to coordinate policy priorities (including ULU’s priorities) and enhance advocacy.
Unique Learners Advocacy Network (Grassroots)
We build communications channels with and develop and train grassroots activists in strategic areas across the country.
